Welcome to Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors
Prerequisite: Advanced
Functions (MHF4U)
Calculus and Vectors is a course designed to build on students’ previous knowledge and develop their understanding of rates of change. Students are able to expand their knowledge of rates of change by learning about the derivatives of polynomial, sinusoidal, exponential, rational and radical functions. They will then apply these concepts to model real-world situations. In vectors, they will learn to algebraically represent lines and planes in three-dimensional space. Overall, this course will help students to refine their use of mathematical applications for success in university. This course is recommended for students who wish to pursue a career in science, engineering, business, and those who wish to take university-level calculus, physics and linear algebra.
